Dix-sept versions remixées du single « Alligator », extrait du dernier album de Tegan and Sara intitulé « Sainthood », seront disponibles sur iTunes à partir du 30 mars.

Seize artistes, dont Passion Pit, Dave Sitek (de TV on the Radio) et Four Tet entre autres, vont ainsi rendre hommage à ce fameux morceau des jumelles canadiennes. Notons qu'une de ces versions sera celle qu’avait composé Sara Kiersten Quin à l’origine. Une compilation physique en version vinyle de ces nombreuses interprétations devrait également sortir un peu plus tard dans l’année.

« Sainthood », le sixième album de Tegan and Sara, est sorti en octobre 2009. Les producteurs Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) et Howard Redekopp, respectivement associés aux albums « The Con » (2007) et « So Jealous » (2004), ont travaillé sur l’opus. Dave Sardy (Oasis, Primal Scream, Marilyn Manson) a quant à lui été le principal responsable du mixage.
